An Apartment That Doesn't Feel Like a Renovation

We spent three nights at Ca della Scimmia in the two-bedroom Panoramic Comfort apartment — a full kitchen, washing machine, dishwasher, and every home comfort built into a building that's several centuries old and has been beautifully, thoughtfully renovated. The finishes are the kind you don't expect from a property with this much history: clean, modern, and genuinely comfortable, not just restored for show.

The Host Made the Difference

What made it memorable wasn't just the apartment, though. It was the host. She stocked the mini fridge with still and sparkling water, left out the ingredients for a proper Venetian Spritz — and sent us a video showing exactly how to make it — along with Italian cookies, coffee, and tea. On our last morning, she showed up with a box of fresh croissants and pastries before we headed out.

This is exactly the kind of property I look for when I'm planning a Venice stay for a client: private, quiet, spacious enough to actually live in for a few days, and run by someone who treats hospitality as a craft rather than a checklist.
